Summary / When to Use This

Task statuses in OnRamp help you quickly understand where work stands in a project. These statuses are automatically updated based on customer activity, subtask completion, and task dependencies. Knowing how they work makes it easier to track progress without manual updates.

Steps to Follow

1. Not Started

  • A task shows Not Started when none of its subtasks have been worked on.

  • This means the customer hasn’t begun engaging with the task yet.

2. In Progress

  • A task moves to In Progress when at least one subtask has been started but the overall task isn’t complete.

  • This gives you visibility into work that’s underway but not yet finished.

3. Finished

  • A task is marked Finished when:

    • All subtasks are completed, or

    • The task itself is manually marked as complete.

  • This status confirms that no more work is required.

4. Blocked

  • A task shows Blocked when it depends on another task that hasn’t been completed.

  • Once the dependency is cleared, the task’s status will automatically update to the appropriate state (Not Started or In Progress).

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • You don’t need to manually set statuses—they update automatically.

  • If a task looks Blocked longer than expected, check its dependencies to see what’s holding it up.

  • Subtasks are the main driver of task status. If you’re seeing unexpected results, review the subtask completion progress.
