Summary / When to Use This
Tasks are the building blocks of your projects in OnRamp. Assigning them to the right people and managing progress keeps your onboarding or implementation projects moving smoothly. This article walks you through how to assign tasks, update ownership, and keep everything on track.
Steps to Follow
1. Open Your Project
From the left-hand menu, click Projects.
Select the project you want to work on.
2. View the Task List
Navigate to the Tasks tab within your project.
You’ll see tasks grouped by lanes or stages, depending on your setup.
3. Assign a Task to a Team Member
Click into the task you want to assign.
Locate the Assignee field.
Choose from available project members:
Internal users (your team)
Customer users (if they’ve been invited)
Role-based assignment (tasks tied to a Playbook role will automatically assign to whoever holds that role).
4. Set Due Dates and Dependencies
Use the Due Date field to establish deadlines.
If the task relies on another being finished, add a Dependency so it won’t open until the prior task is complete.
5. Monitor Task Progress
Task status updates automatically as users mark them In Progress or Complete.
Use the Activity Log to see when updates happen.
Add Comments for quick collaboration.
6. Reassign or Update Tasks as Needed
If ownership changes, simply update the Assignee field.
You can also adjust deadlines or task details anytime from the task view.
Tips & Troubleshooting
Forgot to assign a task? Tasks left unassigned will remain visible but won’t notify anyone. Assign them promptly to avoid delays.
Customer not seeing their task? Confirm they’re added as a Customer User on the project and have access to that task.
Overdue tasks piling up? Use Nudge Reminders or review your Insights tab to identify blockers early.
