Self-service playbooks let your customers start projects on their own without contacting your team. When you enable self-service on a playbook, OnRamp lists the playbook as an option on your customer portal so customers can choose it when they want to kick off an upgrade, onboarding or other workflow. This article explains how to turn on self-service and customize the details that your customers see.
Before You Begin
You have created or chosen a playbook in your Library.
You have permission to edit playbooks and configure portal settings.
The playbook is built with tasks, instructions and workflows that will guide your customers.
Steps
From the left menu, click Library and select Playbooks. Click the playbook you want to make self-service.
On the playbook page, select the Portal tab and then click Settings
Under Self-Service Settings, toggle the Enabled switch to On
Fill out the required fields:
Default Project Owner – Assign the teammate who will be responsible for projects created through this playbook.
Customer Facing Name – Enter a friendly name that will appear on the portal tile.
Customer Facing Description – Provide a concise description explaining the purpose of the playbook.
Portal cover image (optional) – Insert an HTML `<img>` tag to display an image on the playbook tile. If you prefer not to use an image, leave this blank.
Review your entries and click Save. The playbook will now be available in the customer portal for self-service.
Tips
You can enable as many self-service playbooks as your organization needs. Each one appears as a tile on the customer portal.
All self-service-enabled playbooks are visible to all customer users of your portal, so use clear names and descriptions to help them choose the right one.
To remove an image from the playbook tile, simply delete the HTML `<img>` tag in the Portal cover image field.
