Summary / When to Use This

The Embeddable step lets you bring the outside world into OnRamp. You can insert almost any web content—videos, calendars, presentations, forms, or even entire web apps—directly into a task. This keeps your projects streamlined and interactive, without requiring your customers or teammates to jump between tools.

Steps to Follow

1. Open the Task Builder

  • Go to the Playbook or Project where you want to add the step.

  • Create a new task, or edit an existing task.

  • Click + to add a new step.

2. Select the Embeddable Step

  • From the step type list, choose Embeddable.

3. Choose How to Embed Content

You have two options:

  • URL Embed – Pulls in the full webpage as if it were opened in a browser.

    • Example: Embedding a live SaaS dashboard.

  • HTML Embed – Uses the service’s dedicated embed code (iframe snippet).

    • Example: Embedding a YouTube video or Google Slides deck without extra clutter.

Tip: If a service provides both, use HTML Embed—it’s usually cleaner and designed for embedding.

4. Add Your Content

  • Paste the URL or HTML snippet into the provided field.

  • Adjust Width and Height to control the viewing window.

  • Click Save to preview how the content will display.

5. Preview and Test

  • Use Preview Mode in the project portal to check how the embed will appear.

  • Adjust sizes until the content looks clean and scroll bars are minimized.

Embed in the Customer Portal

When a task with an Embeddable step is assigned to a customer, they’ll see the content directly inside their OnRamp portal.

  • The content is fully interactive—customers can click through slides, play videos, or book meetings.

  • OnRamp does not track activity inside the embedded content. The customer must still click Complete task to confirm progress.

Example Use Cases

Here are a few popular ways teams use Embeddable steps:

  • Share presentations – Insert a Google Slides deck for customers to review.

  • Video walkthroughs – Embed from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, or Wistia.

  • Meeting scheduling – Insert a Calendly calendar so customers can pick a time.

  • Forms and spreadsheets – Collect data via a live Google Sheet or Form.

  • App access – Link customers to a third-party SaaS tool without leaving OnRamp.

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • If your content looks cluttered, switch from URL to HTML Embed.

  • Experiment with iframe width and height to avoid scroll bars.

  • Remind users to click Complete task, since embedded actions aren’t automatically tracked.
