Want to keep your team in the loop in real time? You can integrate Slack with OnRamp to post project updates, task completions, due reminders, and more—right into the channels your team already uses. It’s perfect for increasing visibility, boosting accountability, and speeding up collaboration.

You can send:

  • Project-based updates to shared or internal Slack channels

  • Milestone notifications like project creation and completion

  • Daily task reminders and overdue alerts

Before You Begin

  • You must have permission in Slack to install apps and post to the target channels.

  • If posting to a private Slack channel, you’ll need to invite the OnRamp app to that channel manually.

Steps to Follow

1. Connect Slack to OnRamp

Let’s get the app connected first.

  1. In OnRamp, go to Settings > Integrations > Add an App

  2. Find the Slack tile and click Connect

  3. Follow the prompts from Slack to authorize and install the OnRamp app

You’ll see a confirmation that the Slack app is Connected

2. Post Updates from a Specific Project

Send updates from a single project (like task completions) to a Slack channel—internal or shared with your customer.

  1. Create or edit a Project

  2. In the Project settings, go to the Integrations tab

  3. Choose the Slack channel you'd like to post updates to
(You can search existing channels or create a new one)

  4. If it's a private channel, open that channel in Slack and type /invite @OnRamp

Once linked, task completions and other project events will start posting to the channel!

📎 Tip: Great for keeping customers or internal teams aligned throughout the onboarding journey.

3. Automatically Post Project Creation & Completion

Set up team-wide notifications when any project is created or completed—no need to configure each one manually.

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations

  2. Click the (i) icon on the Slack tile

  3. Under Configuration, choose:

    • Channel for project creation notifications

    • Channel for project completion notifications

  4. Click Save

Don’t forget: If the target channel is private, invite @OnRamp there manually.

What Notifications Look Like

Here’s what you and your team will see in Slack once it’s set up:

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Nothing’s posting? Make sure the OnRamp Slack app is invited to the channel: /invite @OnRamp

  • Seeing old messages? Project milestone notifications only post from the moment setup is complete.

  • Want to test? Create a test project and assign yourself a task to see what notifications look like live.
