OnRamp AI: Ask About This View
Last updated: April 13, 2026
Every page in Core Insights includes a built-in AI assistant that analyzes the data you're looking at and helps you take action faster. Whether you want an instant summary of what your data means, want to dig into a specific question, or need a recommended next step, the OnRamp AI panel is always one click away.
This isn't a generic chatbot. The OnRamp AI understands the context of your current Insights view and responds with analysis specific to your real data.
Where to Find It
The AI panel appears on the right side of every Core Insights page. It's labeled "Ask about [View Name]" — for example, "Ask about Project Health Overview" or "Ask about Portal Engagement." The label changes dynamically to reflect whichever insight you're currently viewing.
If the panel is collapsed, click the expand control to open it. Once open, it loads automatically and begins analyzing your current data without any input required.
What Happens When You Open It
As soon as the AI panel loads, it automatically runs an analysis of the data currently visible in the insight view — applying your active filters and date range. Within moments, it presents:
- Key Findings — A bulleted summary of the most significant patterns, outliers, or trends in your current data. These findings are specific to your account — not generic advice.
- Recommendations — Suggested actions based on the findings. For example, in the Project Health Overview, the AI might recommend reaching out to specific at-risk accounts or reassigning workload from an overloaded owner.
For action-oriented recommendations, you may see a highlighted action chip (displayed in OnRamp's signature purple) such as "Recommending Project Actions" — clicking this takes you directly to the relevant area of OnRamp to act on the suggestion.
Asking Your Own Questions
Below the auto-generated analysis, there's a "Ask a question..." input field where you can type any question about the data in the current view. The AI understands the context of the Insights page you're on and can answer questions like:
- "Which projects are most at risk of missing their deadline?"
- "Who owns the most projects right now and what's their on-time rate?"
- "What's been driving the drop in portal logins this month?"
- "Which tasks are causing the most delays in the Enterprise playbook?"
- "How many customers have never logged into their portal?"
You can ask follow-up questions in natural language — the AI maintains the context of your conversation within the session, so you can refine your questions iteratively without starting over.
Suggested Prompt Chips
To help you get started quickly, the AI panel displays 4–5 suggested prompt chips below the input field. These are pre-written questions tailored to the specific Insights view you're on — common questions that users in your role typically find most valuable. Click any chip to instantly send that question to the AI without typing.
Examples of suggested prompts you might see:
- Project Health: "What are the common factors in my Off Track projects?"
- Portal Engagement: "Which accounts have the lowest portal adoption?"
- Task Performance: "What tasks have the worst on-time rate?"
- User Engagement: "Which customer users haven't logged in yet?"
Feedback on AI Responses
Every AI response includes thumbs up / thumbs down feedback buttons. Use these to rate whether the AI's analysis was helpful or accurate. Your feedback helps improve OnRamp AI over time, making it more valuable for your team with every interaction.
An Important Note on AI Accuracy
The AI panel displays a note at the bottom of each response: "Note: AI can make mistakes." While OnRamp AI is designed to provide accurate, data-grounded analysis, we recommend treating its outputs as a starting point for your own review — particularly for high-stakes decisions. Always cross-reference AI recommendations with the underlying data tables in the Insights view.
Collapsing and Expanding the Panel
The AI panel can be collapsed at any time using the collapse control at the top of the panel. This gives you more horizontal space to view charts and tables if you prefer a wider view. Click the expand control to bring the AI panel back. Your conversation history is preserved within the session — collapsing the panel doesn't clear your chat.
Tips for Getting the Best Results
- Apply your filters first. The AI analyzes the data currently shown in the view — so if you want analysis scoped to a specific playbook or owner, set your filters before asking your question.
- Be specific. Questions like "Which at-risk projects have a value over $50k?" will yield more useful answers than "What should I look at?"
- Follow up. If the initial response isn't exactly what you needed, ask a follow-up question to refine or deepen the analysis.
- Use it for reporting prep. The AI's Key Findings are often a great starting point for a leadership update or QBR — ask it to summarize current onboarding health in a few sentences and edit from there.
