Connect Slack to OnRamp and Configure Notifications
Last updated: March 13, 2026
Connect Slack to OnRamp and your team gets real-time visibility into project milestones, task completions, and daily reminders — right in the channels they already live in.
Before You Begin
- You need permission in Slack to install apps and post to target channels.
- For private Slack channels, you’ll need to invite the OnRamp app manually after connecting.
Step 1: Connect Slack to OnRamp
- In OnRamp, go to Settings › Integrations › Add an App.
- Find the Slack tile and click Connect.
- Follow the Slack authorization prompts to install the OnRamp app.
Once complete, the Slack tile will show a Connected status.
Step 2: Post Updates from a Specific Project
Route task completions and project events from a single project to a Slack channel — great for keeping customers or internal teams aligned.
- Create or open a Project and go to its Integrations tab.
- Search for and select the Slack channel you want to post updates to.
- If it’s a private channel, open it in Slack and type
/invite @OnRamp.
Once linked, task completions and other project events will post to that channel automatically.
Step 3: Set Up Team-Wide Project Notifications
Automatically post to a channel whenever any project is created or completed — no per-project setup required.
- Go to Settings › Integrations.
- Click the (i) icon on the Slack tile.
- Under Configuration, set:
- Channel for project creation notifications
- Channel for project completion notifications
- Click Save.
If either target channel is private, invite @OnRamp to it manually.
What Notifications Look Like
Once connected, OnRamp posts Slack messages for:
- Project creation — when a new project is launched
- Task completion — when a task is marked done
- Subtask completion — when a subtask step is completed
- Project completion — when a project is marked complete
- Daily task reminders / overdue alerts — sent to assigned users
Tips & Troubleshooting
- Nothing posting to a channel? Type
/invite @OnRampin that Slack channel to make sure the app has access. - Only seeing new notifications? Project milestone notifications only start posting from the moment setup is complete — they don’t backfill.
- Want to test the setup? Create a test project and complete a task to see what the notifications look like live.
