Connect Salesforce to OnRamp

Last updated: June 25, 2026

Linking your Salesforce org to OnRamp takes about a minute. This guide walks you through each step — and explains what the connection makes possible once it's in place.

Walkthrough

A one-minute walkthrough of the full connection flow.

Before you begin

You'll need a few things ready:

  • Admin access to your OnRamp organization settings.

  • Salesforce login with permission to authorize connected apps.

  • To know whether you're connecting a Production org or a Sandbox.

Connect Salesforce, step by step

  1. Open your integration settings

In the OnRamp dashboard, open Settings from the left sidebar, then go to Integrations+. You'll see the CRMs you can connect, including Salesforce and HubSpot.

  2. Choose Salesforce

Select the Salesforce card to start the connection. A Connect to Salesforce dialog opens.

  3. Pick your environment and confirm

Set the Instance Auth Setting to either Salesforce Production or Salesforce Sandbox to match the org you're linking, then click Confirm. Confirming begins the connection and opens a secure authorization window.

  4. Authorize the connection

In the authorization window, sign in to Salesforce if prompted and approve access for OnRamp. OnRamp connects using OAuth, so it never sees or stores your Salesforce password. When you see “Authorization completed successfully,” you can close that window.

  5. You're connected

Back in OnRamp, the connection finalizes on its own. When it's done, the Salesforce integration shows a status of Enabled and you'll see a confirmation that the integration was added and deployed successfully.

What connecting enables

Linking Salesforce opens the door to two things:

Automated project creation

OnRamp can create onboarding projects automatically from your Salesforce.

Data flows back to your CRM

Onboarding progress and data can sync straight back into Salesforce.

Nothing happens automatically — yet

Connecting Salesforce only establishes the link between the two systems. It does not create any projects or move any data on its own. It simply makes automation possible — you decide what to automate, and when.

Notes & troubleshooting

  • Production vs. Sandbox: choose the option that matches the Salesforce org you want to connect. If you pick the wrong one, you can disconnect and reconnect from the same Integrations page.

  • Permissions: you need rights in Salesforce to authorize connected apps. If authorization fails, check with your Salesforce administrator.

  • Managing the connection: the Salesforce integration and its status live on the Settings → Integrations page, where you can review or remove it at any time.

What's next

With Salesforce connected, you can set up the automation it enables — rules that create projects from new deals, and field mappings that send onboarding data back to your CRM. Until you configure those, the connection simply stays ready in the background.
