Using the Project Calendar View

Last updated: March 10, 2026

The Project Calendar View allows teams to visualize project tasks based on their scheduled dates. This view displays tasks across a calendar timeline, making it easier to understand when work is planned to occur and how tasks are distributed throughout the project.

While the Task List View is best for managing and completing tasks, the Calendar View helps teams visualize the overall schedule and quickly identify upcoming deadlines.

Accessing the Calendar View

To open the calendar view:

  1. Navigate to a Project

  2. Select the Calendar tab at the top of the project

The calendar will display tasks according to their start and due dates.

How Tasks Appear on the Calendar

Tasks appear on the calendar based on their scheduled dates.

Depending on how a task is configured:

  • Tasks with both a start and due date will span across multiple days.

  • Tasks with only one date will appear on a single day.

  • Tasks missing dates will not appear on the calendar.

Tasks displayed on the calendar are color-coded to make it easy to understand their status:

  • Green — Completed tasks

  • Red — Overdue tasks

  • Gray — Tasks without dates

This helps teams quickly identify which work is complete, overdue, or missing scheduling information.

Viewing and Grouping Tasks (Left Panel)

On the left side of the calendar view, you will see a list of project tasks. This panel allows you to quickly browse and filter tasks alongside the calendar timeline.

Tasks can be grouped in several ways using the grouping dropdown:

  • Status

  • Module

  • Assignee

  • Start Date

  • End Date

  • Org / Customer

  • Month Due

Grouping tasks allows teams to quickly focus on specific parts of the project or understand who owns upcoming work.

Each task in the list also displays helpful context such as:

  • Task owner

  • Task date

  • Completion status

Clicking a task in the list opens the task details panel, allowing you to update the task without leaving the calendar view.

Reviewing Tasks Missing Dates

At the top of the calendar view, you may see a Review Tasks button with a number next to it.

This indicates that some tasks in the project are missing scheduling information.

Selecting Review Tasks opens a panel that identifies tasks with missing dates, including:

  • Tasks missing both start and due dates

  • Tasks missing a start date

  • Tasks missing a due date

Each task name in this list is clickable, allowing you to quickly jump to that task and update its dates.

Tasks missing both dates will not appear on the calendar, so reviewing this list helps ensure the project timeline is fully represented.

Navigating the Calendar

You can move through the project timeline using the navigation controls at the top of the calendar.

These controls allow you to:

  • Move forward or backward through months

  • Jump to today’s date

  • Switch between different calendar views (such as month view)

This makes it easy to review upcoming work and understand the broader project timeline.

Why the Calendar View Is Useful

The calendar view provides a timeline-based perspective of the project, helping teams quickly see how tasks are distributed across time.

Teams commonly use this view to:

  • Identify upcoming deadlines

  • Plan upcoming work

  • Spot overdue tasks

  • Ensure tasks are properly scheduled

Maintaining accurate task dates ensures the calendar provides a reliable picture of project timelines.
