Use the Embeddable Task Step in OnRamp
Last updated: March 13, 2026
The Embeddable step lets you pull the outside world directly into an OnRamp task — videos, calendars, presentations, forms, live SaaS tools — so customers and teammates never have to jump between apps to complete a step.
Steps
1. Open the Task Builder
- Go to the Playbook or Project where you want to add the step.
- Create a new task or edit an existing one, then click + to add a step.
2. Select the Embeddable Step
- From the step type list, choose Embeddable.
3. Choose Your Embed Method
- URL Embed — loads the full webpage directly. Good for live SaaS dashboards.
- HTML Embed — uses the service’s dedicated iframe snippet. Cleaner and purpose-built for embedding (use this when available).
4. Add Your Content
- Paste the URL or HTML snippet into the provided field.
- Adjust Width and Height to control the viewing window.
- Click Save to preview.
5. Preview and Test
- Use Preview Mode in the project portal to check how the embed appears.
- Adjust dimensions until the content looks clean with minimal scroll bars.
In the Customer Portal
Customers see the embedded content directly inside their OnRamp portal and can interact with it fully — clicking slides, playing videos, booking meetings. Note: OnRamp does not track activity inside the embed. Customers must still click Complete task to confirm progress.
Popular Use Cases
- Presentations — embed a Google Slides deck for customers to review
- Video walkthroughs — YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, or Wistia
- Meeting scheduling — a Calendly calendar so customers can pick a time
- Forms and spreadsheets — collect data via a live Google Form or Sheet
- App access — link customers to a third-party tool without leaving OnRamp
Tips & Troubleshooting
- Content looks cluttered? Switch from URL to HTML Embed.
- Experiment with iframe width and height to avoid scroll bars.
- Remind users to click Complete task — embedded actions aren’t automatically tracked.
