Bulk Update Tasks in a Project
Last updated: March 13, 2026
When you need to shift due dates across a whole module, reassign a batch of tasks, or clean up after a project build, bulk actions let you make those changes in a few clicks instead of one task at a time.
Note: Bulk actions are currently available in Projects › List view only.
Step 1: Select Your Tasks
- Open a project and click the List tab.
- Check the checkbox to the left of each task you want to include.
- To select an entire module at once, click the checkbox next to the module name.
- A toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen showing how many tasks are selected and what actions are available.
Step 2: Choose a Bulk Action
From the bottom toolbar, select any of the following:
- Edit details — Update key fields across all selected tasks
- Complete — Mark all selected tasks as complete
- Nudge — Send a single combined reminder email for all selected tasks
- Comment — Add the same comment to each selected task
- Duplicate — Create copies of the selected tasks
- Save to Library — Convert selected tasks into reusable Library tasks
- Delete — Permanently remove the selected tasks
Step 3: Edit Task Details in Bulk
- Click Edit details.
- A side panel opens with editable fields.
- Update any combination of:
- Type (Customer or Internal)
- Assignee
- Assignee Restrictions
- Start date and Due date
- Status
- Tags (Add or Remove)
- Use Clear value on applicable fields to remove the current value from all selected tasks.
- Click Apply to All to save, or Cancel to discard.
Tips & Troubleshooting
- Nudges send one combined email. When you nudge multiple tasks, the assigned user receives a single email listing only the tasks they can see — not one email per task.
- Not seeing checkboxes? Make sure you’re in Project › List view — bulk actions aren’t available in Calendar, Gantt, or other tabs.
- Dates not applying as expected? Task dependencies or weekend exclusions may influence how start and due dates calculate.
- Need to undo a bulk update? Check the task activity log to see what changed, then bulk-apply new values to correct.
