OnRamp does a lot — but it’s intentionally organized so you don’t have to think too hard about where things live.

This guide gives you a quick tour of the main areas of OnRamp, what each one is for, and how they fit together.

No memorization required.

The big picture

OnRamp is organized around a simple idea:

Projects are the center of gravity.

Everything else — playbooks, workflows, tasks, insights — exists to support how projects get created, run, and completed.

If you know where projects live, you’re already most of the way there.

Projects

Projects are where the work happens.

From a project, you can:

  • See progress at a glance

  • View tasks and owners

  • Track milestones

  • Collaborate internally and with customers

If you’re wondering “what’s going on with this customer?” — projects are the place to start.

Playbooks

Playbooks define how projects should run.

This is where admins and operators:

  • Design the structure of a process

  • Define modules and tasks

  • Standardize how work is done

You’ll usually visit playbooks when you’re building or improving a process — not when you’re executing day-to-day work.

Workflows

Workflows control when projects get created.

They’re used to:

  • Listen for triggers (often from your CRM)

  • Automatically create projects

  • Apply the right playbook and settings

Once workflows are set up, they quietly do their job in the background.

Tasks

Tasks are the individual steps that move a project forward.

You’ll see tasks:

  • Assigned to you

  • Assigned to teammates

  • Assigned to customers

Clear ownership and visibility here are what keep projects moving without constant follow-ups.

Views & Insights

Views and Insights help you zoom out.

They’re used to:

  • Monitor progress across projects

  • Identify bottlenecks

  • Understand trends over time

Think of this area as your “how are we doing overall?” dashboard.

The customer portal

The customer portal is what your customers see.

Depending on how it’s configured, customers can:

  • View project progress

  • Complete tasks

  • Understand what’s coming next

It’s designed to reduce status emails and keep everyone aligned.

Finding your way around

A few helpful tips as you explore:

  • You don’t need to visit every section every day

  • Most users spend the majority of their time in Projects

  • Admin-focused areas (like Playbooks and Workflows) are usually visited less frequently

If you ever feel lost, returning to a project is a good reset point.

What’s next?

Now that you know where things live, you can:

  • 👉 Create or explore a Project

  • 👉 Review a Playbook

  • 👉 Follow a quick-start guide for your role

You don’t need to know everything to get started.
You just need to know where to look.
