Common First-Time Questions
Last updated: December 30, 2025
If you’re new to OnRamp, you’re probably asking some version of “Am I doing this right?”
Good news: you are.
Even better news: most first-time questions have very simple answers.
Do I need to set everything up before I start?
Nope.
Most teams get started with:
One Playbook
A few Projects
A small group of users
You can expand, automate, and refine once you’ve seen how things work in practice.
Should I connect my CRM right away?
Not necessarily.
It’s often helpful to:
Build and test a Playbook first
Run a few Projects manually
Add CRM-triggered automation once you’re confident
This makes automation easier — and more reliable — when you do set it up.
Can I change Playbooks after Projects are created?
Yes.
Playbooks are meant to evolve.
You can update them as you learn what works best.
Just keep in mind that changes typically affect new projects going forward, not ones already in progress.
What if our process isn’t fully defined yet?
That’s normal.
OnRamp works well even when your process is still taking shape. Start with what you know today and refine as you go.
Many teams use OnRamp to clarify their process — not just document it.
Who should be invited first?
Start with people who will:
Help set things up
Test workflows and projects
Give feedback early
Once things are running smoothly, invite the broader team.
Will customers see everything we do?
Only what you choose to show them.
You control:
Which tasks customers see
What information is visible in the portal
How much transparency makes sense for your workflow
Most teams start with a minimal, focused customer view.
Can we use OnRamp without automation?
Absolutely.
Many teams start by creating Projects manually. Automation with Workflows can be added later once your process is stable.
Manual first. Automated when ready.
What happens if something looks wrong?
First: don’t panic 🙂
Check:
Project status and task ownership
Workflow settings (if automation is involved)
Support documentation for quick fixes
If you’re still stuck, Support is there to help.
How do we know if OnRamp is “working”?
You’ll know when:
Fewer people ask “where are we with this customer?”
Progress is easier to see
Work feels more consistent across customers
Those are strong signals you’re on the right track.
What’s next?
